1. As you are all aware, we have switched back to our original 50 minute schedule. The two major reasons why many 1:1 conversation students have quit are: 1) they felt the classes were boring 2) or they felt they were not learning anything. We need to try to resolve these issues. With that being said, I would encourage all teachers to:

-incorporate 5 to 10 minutes of free conversation in every class
-utilize the whiteboard and explain grammatical rules
-focus on correcting your students’ pronunciation
-make sure to give about 5 new vocabulary words for each class and test your student on all 10 words the following class

All teachers should strive to find the right balance or teaching methodology. Leaning towards any one extreme ultimately will lead to unsatisfied parents and students. In other words, if you focus too much on the material or focus too little on it, it will create problems.

2. Enrollment at Winner has reached an all time low. This is due to various factors. Therefore, we have had to make drastic changes in our staff and system in order to rectify this situation. Your schedules will be busier than usual and may not be to your liking. You most likely will have to work the required 30 hours a week. The bottomline is we need to do our best to increase enrollment for the time being. FYI, I will be hiring a new female teacher for the winter session.

3. Our Winner library is now available. Please encourage your students to borrow books and also recommend a good book for them. So when you have the time, please familiarize yourselves with the available books. The books can be checked out at the front desk. Each student will have 2 weeks to borrow one book.

4. Remember to check the teachers’ forum weekly. In the future, any new information such as this will be posted there. I will update it every Saturday.
